Overview
A Four-Side Detachable Plate Heat Exchanger is a plate-and-frame unit in which the plate pack can be opened from all four sides, rather than only sliding the movable cover along guide bars. Every plate and every gasket can be removed individually for inspection, mechanical cleaning, gasket replacement or selective renewal.
This construction is specifically chosen for high-fouling services — pulp and paper streams, mining process water, heavy-industry cooling loops, sugar-mill juice circuits and similar duties where downtime for cleaning is a major operating cost. Compared with conventional plate-and-frame units, the four-side-detachable design dramatically shortens the cleaning cycle and extends gasket life.
Thermally, it behaves like a standard gasketed plate exchanger: high U-value, compact footprint, close temperature approach, and the same range of plate materials and gasket compounds.
