Chemical Processing

Materials and constructions selected for aggressive chemistries and demanding pressure-temperature duty.

Typical operating conditions

  • Process media: solvents, acids, caustics, brines, reactor loops
  • Temperature range: -30 to 200 °C (higher on request for welded units)
  • Design pressure: typically 10–40 barg, plate or shell & tube
  • Flow rates: 5–500 m³/h per unit, single- or multi-pass

Common engineering challenges

  • Chloride and acid stress corrosion on stainless surfaces
  • Fouling from polymerization, scaling or particulate carryover
  • Thermal shock during batch heating/cooling cycles
  • Chemical compatibility of elastomer gaskets with process media

Recommended materials & construction

  • AISI 316L / 254 SMO plates for chloride-bearing services
  • Titanium Gr.1 / Gr.2 for strong acids and seawater cooling
  • Hastelloy C-276 / Nickel 200 for aggressive process duties
  • EPDM, NBR, HNBR or FKM gaskets matched to media and temperature

Typical delivery scope

  • Thermal and hydraulic sizing based on client duty sheet
  • Material and gasket selection with corrosion review
  • Fabrication under ASME / PED / CE (as specified)
  • Hydrotest, dimensional check, nameplate and documentation package

Ranges shown are indicative for this industry. Actual design is confirmed per project against your duty sheet.
